There are some changes afoot
Some of the regular recipients of my email bulletins may have noticed that there have been no results from Anglesey, or a race report. There is a very simple reason for this - we did not attend!
After Cadwell Park, where once again we achieved reasonable results but nothing spectacular, I have made the decision that I am to re-allocate the funds set aside for the race weekends to bulk up my new race bike fund. I feel the time has come where I need to be closer to the front again, and unfortunately the 2004 GSXR 600 I am currently riding is just not up to the job. This has become more and more apparent over this season, where the newer bikes coming into the field just seem to be light years ahead with much more power, and significantly lighter all round. My competitive nature is not happy just doing 'OK' and so the time has come to sell on the GSXR, sell on my road bike, and plough all I can into a newer, more competitive bike for next season.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of my sponsors who have helped me over this last season; I really do appreciate every bit of support and I absolutely could not do it without them. It is also getting to that time of year where I have to start talking about funding for next season. Add to that the need to now really dig deep to get the best bike I can for next year and I am aware of how much my sponsors make it happen more than ever!
I am very excited for next year though, and am really looking forward to getting out there on some more competitive machinery to try and see what I can really do out on the track.
So, if you know of anyone who wants a good starter race bike, or a great track day bike, send them in my direction! Likewise, if you think that you could help in my funding for the new bike, and/or to start thinking about sponsorship for next season, I would be incredibly pleased to hear from you.
I very much hope to have a new bike sorted before the end of this season, so I can get out and get some laps under my belt. As soon as there is news, you will all be the first to know!
Thanks again for all the support, and here's to next year!
