Having never ridden at Snetterton before, the Friday Test Day was all about learning the track. I quickly discovered just how long the straights were and just how short they seemed on the back of the bike! First session on the Friday was wet, but that was no problem as it gave me a good chance to learn where the track went at least. By the end of the day I had come to really like the track was posting reasonable times and really looking forward to the races to come.

Qualifying on Saturday morning went well, and I qualified in a reasonable position for the races to come. I had hoped that in the first race I would have improved my laptime, and therefore my grid slot for Snday, but a huge hailstorm descended not long after qualfying, and the track had only just tried in time for the first race. Although we were on dry tyres, the track wasn't perfect only a very small number of riders improved their times, so the grid stayed essentially the same. I got a brilliant start and the race went well and was filled with great racing for me - places swapping and changing in a large group of riders. It was a lot of fun, and I came home as 7th Formula 600.

Sunday, the forecast was much better and we woke to brilliant sunshine. It didn't last all day, but it stayed dry. I spent the first 7 laps of the race dicing with one particular rider, but when I finally got clear I put the hammer down and tried to chase the next pack - in doing so I knocked over 2 seconds of my previous best time. Although I finished further up the main pack, I was 10th Formula 600 - still a great result and more points to the total.

I got another great start on the last race of the day, and in the first couple of laps was fighting once again in the pack. However, we had tried to maket he rear tyre do one more race, and it was just too much for it. I couldn't drive out of any of the slow corners and was struggling to keep up the pace. I lost a few places and got some clear track so I worked hard to make up the time where I could. It was a hard fought race to keep the pace, but still a lot of fun. I held position, having to defend hard by the end, and got another 7th Formula 600!

Overall another great weekend, hugely enjoyable and a whole load more points and some more progress towards the front. My consistency and progress has earned me 5th place in the Formula 600 Championship so far, and I will be working hard to move even further up.

Don't forget to tune into MotorsTV on Thursday 9th May at 9pm. Next race is Cadwell Park on 26th/27th May, and I can't wait!
